2025 IHSHA State Hammer Championships

Making It Rain!
The first annual IHSHA Indiana State HS Hammer Championships were held on June 14, 2025 at the throwing field at Marian University in Indianapolis.
The meet started out sunny for the girls competition. Eight high school girls headlined a solid field. Junior Mya Weick from Corydon Central lead the way with her championship throw of 146'-8.5" which was also her seaon's best. Senior Emma Gardner, an Indiana University committ from Greenwood Community, was close to her PR with a throw of 120'-2" to capture second place. Freshman Suri Sabol, from Center Grove, uncorked a huge PR throw of 116'-3"to secure the third place trophy.
The rain started to pour as the boys began warming up and the rainy conditions stayed for the majority of the first flight. Thirteen boys had a spirited competition to crown the first state hammer champion. Adian Kerr, the senior from Bloomington South and Cornell committ, left no doubt with his solid toss of 202" even to bring home the crown. Floyd Central senior and University of Kentucky committ, Brock Conrad was runner up with a throw of 180'-7". His training partner, Sam Didat, a junior at Floyd Central, rounded out the top three with a heave of 171'-9".
The top three girls and boys received a medal and engraved trophy. The top eight girls were also awarded medals and achieved All-State status.
